[ET Net News Agency, 5 February 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$114.22 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$17.62 billion, or 15.42% of the
market's turnover. There were 635 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.92 billion and HK$2.69
billion, or 16.59% and 15.25% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 51.51% and 28.34% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.63 billion and HK$815.36 million of
short sales, accounting for 9.24% and 4.63% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 19.84% and 10.58% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$0.76, or 0.97%, to HK$77.54. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.14,
or 0.67%, to HK$20.86. BABA-W fell HK$0.3, or 0.31% to HK$97.35. TENCENT declined by
HK$1.6, or 0.38%, to HK$419.2.
