[ET Net News Agency, 5 February 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$192.21 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$31.35 billion, or 16.31% of the
market's turnover. There were 671 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.64 billion and HK$4.62
billion, or 14.79% and 14.74% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 49.19% and 27.77% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$2.2 billion and HK$1.42 billion of
short sales, accounting for 7.01% and 4.52% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 17.36% and 21.82% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$0.9, or 1.15%, to HK$77.4. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.2, or
0.95%, to HK$20.8. BABA-W fell HK$0.1, or 0.1% to HK$97.55. XIAOMI-W jumped HK$0.1, or
0.25%, to HK$39.65.
