[ET Net News Agency, 6 February 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$79.65 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.67 billion, or 13.39% of the
market's turnover. There were 634 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.23 billion and HK$941
million, or 11.53% and 8.82% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 52.13% and 23.06% of respective stock's turnover.
SMIC (00981) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$600.91 million and HK$552.72 million of
short sales, accounting for 5.63% and 5.18% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 15.04% and 15.79% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$0.3, or 0.39%, to HK$77.7. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.08, or
0.38%, to HK$20.88. SMIC rose HK$2.65, or 5.93% to HK$47.35. BABA-W jumped HK$0.15, or
0.15%, to HK$97.7.
