[ET Net News Agency, 25 March 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$151.29
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$23.42 billion, or 15.48% of the market's
turnover. There were 786 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and TENCENT (00700) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.44 billion and HK$1.59 billion, or 10.43%
and 6.78% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 43.41%
and 18.01% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$973.72 million and HK$902.9 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.16% and 3.86% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 19.92% and 43.09% of respective stock's
turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed down HK$1.08, or 3.3%, to HK$31.6. TENCENT ended down HK$10, or 1.95%,
to HK$504. BABA-W rose HK$0.7, or 0.57% to HK$123.9. BYD COMPANY declined by HK$1, or
0.93%, to HK$106.
