With the growing prevalence of online shopping and rapidly changing fashion trends, clothing seems to have become a disposable consumable product. Have you ever bought items on impulse due to discount promotions? Do you have clothes and trousers tucked away in the deep corners of your wardrobe that have only been worn a few times?

The production of apparel consumes vast amounts of water resources, and the processing stage utilizes chemical dyes, releasing significant quantities of greenhouse gases. Consequently, this fast-paced consumer model of "buy fast, discard fast" imposes a heavy burden on our planet.

This August, Recycling Store @ Tuen Mun presents a two-day carnival themed around "Fast Fashion" — the #GreenTrendFashionFestival. We invite everyone to explore the environmental impacts of fast fashion, shift away from past consumption habits, and discover the infinite possibilities of green fashion!

Upcycled Clothing Fashion Show: Featuring unique creations by volunteers from the Tuen Mun Volunteer Workshop. Old garments are redesigned through restyling and patchwork, transforming into one-of-a-kind, trendy pieces that blend eco-friendliness with style—breaking the cycle of "buying new and discarding old."

Upcycling Eco-Workshops : Learn how to upcycle old clothes into practical everyday items, practicing resource conservation and zero-waste living.

Free Second-Hand Market : Pre-loved items shared for free reuse.

"The Denim Quest" Special Activity : A special interactive themed feature focused on denim.

Interactive Game Booths: Fun and educational booth games for all ages.

Goodbye to "Fast Fashion"—embrace a new, sustainable eco-lifestyle!

"Attend a Class, Earn a Point" Reward Scheme

Participate in the carnival and earn points to redeem rewards!

How to earn 1 "Bonus Extra" Point:

Participate in at least two activities within a single carnival session; OR

Submit no less than 2 kg of second-hand items at a single collection activity and register on-site with our staff.

Redemption: Accumulate 2 "Bonus Extra" Points in each phase to redeem gifts!

*Note: Participants must first accumulate at least 3 "Basic Reward" Points in each phase to unlock the "Bonus Extra" rewards.

⚠ Important Notes & Guidelines

Health Notice: If you have a fever or feel unwell, please refrain from visiting Recycling Store @ Tuen Mun.

Queuing: Please follow staff instructions and queue up in an orderly manner during the event.

Age Requirement for Workshops: Children aged 8 or below must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and complete a single piece of work together.

Workshop Registration: Materials are provided by Recycling Store @ Tuen Mun. Registration is conducted on-site on a first-come, first-served basis (while slots last). Each participant must queue up in person at the designated area to register.

Queue Opening Time: Queuing and registration for each workshop session will open 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

Second-Hand Market Policy: The Free Second-Hand Market is for item distribution only; no collection of items will be conducted at the market stalls.
